These crisp uncirculated Brazilian 200 Cruzeiros Banknotes feature the Statue of the Republic on the front. The reverse shows a reproduction of the famous Pedro Bruno oil painting "Patria", depicting a family creating a Brazilian flag. This 1990 Brazil banknote series was overprinted upon Cruzado Novo denominations. Interesting side note: the word cruzeiro refers to the "Southern Cross", an astronomical constellation which can only be seen from the Southern Hemisphere. The Southern Cross, or crux, is to the southern half of the globe, what the North Star is to us in the North. Price: $7.95 |
